Praised be Jesus Christ!
On Tuesday, August 8, we celebrated the feast of St. Dominic. This is a great opportunity to gratefully remember the great Dominican family that supports and helps us in this difficult time. We try to be close to those who need our help, in particular in the territories liberated from occupation. This week we served in Kherson, we visited people in their homes in Korabelny district, where the water reached up to 4 meters and flooded them. As a result, walls are damp and affected by fungi, and houses are almost uninhabitable. Disinfection is usually carried out, but household chemicals, new furniture, and appliances are necessary. The city and nearby villages suffer from enemy shelling. Today the village Zimovnyk was heavily shelled. We distributed 530 folding beds and blankets in Kherson districts: Korabelny, Naftohavan and Ostriv. Our social kitchen in Kherson is working despite the difficult situation in the city. Our friends supported us this week, we thank our new partners, the “3 Musketeers” Charitable Foundation from Germany, who directly sent beans and freeze-dried soups and products to Kherson. This week we provided 1,768 sets of basic products, 15,900 kg of humanitarian aid was distributed. We thank Mr. Ireneusz Gajun, who came to us with his family and brought humanitarian aid from Poland from the Slavic Full Gospel Church.
We thank the Charitables Foundation and Charitables Freta, especially the tireless volunteer Mr. Paweł Bandażewski for delivering the aid to Fastiv. Thank you for the Patronage and support to the wife of the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Ukraine, Mrs. Monika Kapa Cichocki. We thank the community of Lay Dominicans from Zwolle, who sent us their donations for humanitarian missions. Thank you Pomoc Polakom na Wschodzie im. Jana Olszewskiego for supporting two of our projects, for which a positive decision was received this week.
We thank the 4 organizations that responded to the collection of used equipment for the affected in the Kherson region, Mrs. Larisa Kerzhentseva, Dolindo Volunteer Center, Univest Marketing and those who wanted to remain anonymous benefactors. Thanks to you, we have 15 units of small appliances, including washing machines, refrigerators, blankets, irons, electric stoves, sleeping bags, tents. The collection continues. Please join us…
Thank you to each of you who reads our reports, associates with prayer, support, charitable contributions, may the good Lord protect you and bless you and your families.
With prayers
Fr. Mykhailo Romaniv OP
