The first weeks of summer holidays… For children under normal conditions, it means a lot of joy, carelessness, but during the war, holidays also have a sad shade. In our shelter, this week we received 40 children who were evacuated from the city of Pokrovsk of Donetsk region. This was made possible by a joint project with “Good brother charitable fund”. “The Great Family Charitable Camp” aims to help children restore their inner balance and get qualified psychological support. We thank President Mr. Mariusz Markovsky for his trust. Thank you, our friends “Zupa Na Monciaku”, who supported the children of Donetsk region and sent vitamins and sweet help.

Children, despite their wounds, are very open and share their experiences, which are also familiar to us. “We can finally listen to the silence, we can sleep at night without explosions and shots.” We plan further cooperation with partners, as evacuation saves life.

Our children of St. Martin de Porres Catholic School went on holidays and rehabilitation in Yaremchi in the Carpathians with teachers. Thank you to the benefactors of “Charytatywni Freta” and “Fundacja charytatywni” for financial support for this time so that our children can relax.

On June 19, we were visited by the Marshall of Sejm of the Republic of Poland Szymon Hołownia. This visit was a surprise for us. Meeting with children and volunteers, which took place in our center and shelter, words of support and solidarity. From the beginning of a full -scale war, our Polish friends, volunteers and partners have helped and help us at this difficult time. We are very grateful for it and appreciate every gesture of kindness. Together with Mr. Marshal, we were visited by Mr. Yaroslav Guza from the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Kiev.

Thank you for the memory and assistance of the community of Lay Dominicans with Mr. Peter and Frans Van Der Heijdt, who care about humanitarian aid for Ukraine.
