Praised be Jesus Christ!

This week we all live in the shadow of the tragedy at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station these days are crowded with talking with our friends in Kherson. We hotly strive to divide the burden of their grief and pain by the word of the apostle: “Wear the burdens of each other” (Gal 6:2). Our social cuisine in Kherson prepares dinners for the victims daily, and volunteers are delivered to the left bank, on boats and boats, despite the danger, unfortunately even during evacuation, shelling does not stop. It is painful to listen to people who have lost everything and animals who have been defenseless because of the element. We plan our departure to Kherson next week with the opportunity to open another social kitchen.

On the first day of the tragedy, we prepared 50 places for the evacuated from flooded areas, at the request of the Office of the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada for Human Affairs, who called us in the first hours of the disaster. We were asked for the same by Ms. Zhanna Shvydka, the Deputy of Humanitarian Affairs of the City Council of Fastiv. Thanks to Ms. Olena Nechepy from the Christian Charitable Foundation for beds.

This week we sent 570 personal packages to Ukraine, in particular to Odessa, where most of the refugees from Kherson are located. The most necessary have already been delivered, namely: diapers for adults, diapers for children, household chemicals, washing powder, shampoos, baby food, clothing, syrups, medicines, blankets, water. In total, we were given 21 260 kg of humanitarian aid this week. Yesterday we provided humanitarian support for paramedic facilities of the Fastiv multidisciplinary hospital of intensive treatment. Thank you for the humanitarian aid we received this week, the words of gratitude to the wife of the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Ukraine Mrs. Monika Kapa-Cichocka, the Jan Olszewski Foundation for the help for the Poles in the East, personally to its director Mr. Mikołaj Fialkowski, and to Ms. Aniela for her heartiness and coordination. We are grateful for remembering us to the Fund for the Assistance to the Church in the East, Father Leszek Krzyż, Father Luca Bowie, Father Adam Kowalik and the Associazione Svizzera Sudan – ASSS.

We thank the Charitables – Freta and the Charitable Foundation, Mr. Paweł Bandażewski, Ms. Ania Stadnitska, Ms. Marzena Michałowska for delivering humanitarian aid from Poland and the purchase of sweets and gifts for the Day of Protection of Children in Borodyanka, which we held for children yesterday.

We ask you to especially support Kherson and surrounding settlements in these days, to which we go with some help next week. We have a few more days. Needs: disposable lunch boxes, disposable dishes, cups and appliances, vegetables (except potatoes), oil and animal feed. If possible, we ask for your financial support.

With prayers Fr. Mykhailo Romaniv OP
